Certain implanted devices do not permit us to perform electric cell signal treatments, including:
– Any magnetic metal implant (aneurysm clips, vena cava filters). Orthopedic hardware is acceptable.
– Spinal cord stimulators
– AICD/Pacemaker
– Any implanted wires
Certain medical conditions can also be contraindicated for use of electric cell signal therapy. These conditions do not absolutely exclude you from treatment, but are conditions that must be discussed in advance, including:
– Pregnancy
– Epilepsy, brain damage, or a traumatic brain injury requiring use of anti-convulsant medications
– Heart attack or heart damage within 6 months
– Cardiac arrhythmia
Certain medications/substances may reduce the efficacy of electric cell signaling, and we will typically request that these medications be held prior to treatment. These include:
– Topical creams/lotions (inhibit electrode adherence)
– Gabapentin and Lyrica (anti-convulsants)
– Ketamine
– Marijuana
– Lidocaine patches
